The main US presidential election in Iowa is going to be held on November 3, Tuesday. This election is also going to be part of the whole US Presidential Election along with the other 50 states. This election is going to be taken so that the people of Iowa will be able to choose the right candidate which they believe will stand for the Electoral College on November 3. Iowa State has a total of 6 electoral votes in the Electoral College.
2020 Iowa Republican Caucuses:
On Monday, February 3, the 2020 US Iowa Republican Caucuses were held. It was the first Republican caucus to be held in the USA. All of the republican candidates held their presidential campaign during 2019 and early January 2020. Iowa caucuses are usually closed caucuses where Iowa nominates 40 different pledged delegates to the Republican National Convention. The same happened this year as well.
Candidates and results:
Donald Trump:
The current president of the USA, Donald Trump of Florida State received almost 97.1% votes in the 2020 US Iowa Republican Caucuses. The total number of voters was 31,464. This resulted in a total of 39 estimated delegates.
William Weld:
The former governor of Massachusetts, William Weld received only 1.3% of the votes in the 2020 US Iowa Republican Caucuses. The total number of voters was 426. This resulted in a total of only 1 estimated delegate.
Joe Walsh:
The former member of the US House of Representatives, Joe Walsh from Illinois state received only 1.1% votes in the 2020 US Iowa Republican Caucuses. The total number of voters was only 1. Unfortunately, he couldn’t manage to get an estimated delegate.
Other Candidates:
There were other candidates as well in the 2020 US Iowa Republican Caucuses. The total number of voters was only 151 which is just 0.5% of the total number of votes.
2020 Iowa Democratic Caucuses:
On Monday, February 3, the 2020 US Iowa Democratic Caucuses were held. It was the first Democratic caucus to be held in the USA. All of the democratic candidates held their presidential campaign during 2019 and early January 2020. A total number of 49 delegates are awarded by Iowa State. Among them, 41 are the pledged while the remaining 8 are unpledged. The number of pledged candidates received is determined by the number of SDEs won.

Pete Buttigieg:
The former mayor of South Bend, Pete Buttigieg from Indiana State received 563.0 SDEs which is nearly 26.2% of the total SDEs calculated in the 2020 Iowa democratic caucuses. This awarded him a total number of 14 estimated pledged delegates count.
Bernie Sanders:
The former member of the US House of Representatives, Bernie Sanders from Vermont state received 562.0 SDE which is nearly 26.1% of the total SDEs calculated in the 2020 Iowa democratic caucuses. This awarded him a total number of 12 estimated pledged delegates count.
Elizabeth Warren:
The former US Senator, Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts state received 388.4 SDEs which is nearly 18.0% of the total SDEs calculated in the 2020 Iowa democratic caucuses. This awarded her a total number of 8 estimated pledged delegates count.
Joe Biden:
The former vice-President of the USA, Joe Biden from Delaware state received 340.3 SDEs which is nearly 13.7% of the total SDEs calculated in the 2020 Iowa democratic caucuses. This awarded him a total number of 6 estimated pledged delegates count.
Amy Klobuchar:
The US Senator from Minnesota, Amy Klobuchar received 263.9 SDEs which is nearly 12.3% of the total SDEs calculated in the 2020 Iowa democratic caucuses. This awarded only 1 estimated pledged delegates count.
2020 Iowa Libertarian Caucuses:
On February 8, the Libertarian Party of Iowa conducted the 2020 Iowa Libertarian Caucuses where registered Libertarian voters participated. Among them, Jacob Hornberger received the most number of votes – 133 (47.52%). Other candidates weren’t able to give a tough challenge to him. Other candidates were Lincoln Chafee (12.77%), Jo Jorgensen (6.38%), Adam Kokesh (6.03%), Dan Behrman (4.96%), John McAfee (3.55%), Vermin Supreme (3.19%), Sam Robb (2.48%), Max Abramson (2.13%), Mark Whitney (1.42%), Arvin Vohra (1.06%), Ken Armstrong (0.71%), Souraya Faas (0.71%), Benjamin Leder (0.35%), and John Monds (0.35%).
