Anthony Scaramucci is an American political consultant, financier, and entrepreneur who had an extremely brief stint in the White House as the Director of Communications in 2017. Scaramucci is the founder of SkyBridge Capital, an investment firm.
The Early Years of Anthony Scaramucci
Anthony Scaramucci was born on January 6, 1964, in Long Island, New York. Scaramucci’s family was an Italian-American, Roman Catholic Household. The middle-class family was supported by Alexander Scaramucci, Anthony’s father, who worked as a construction worker. Anthony graduated high school from Paul D. Schreiber Senior High School before studying at Massachusetts’s Tufts University for his undergraduate degree. Scaramucci graduated with a B.A. in Economics before attending the Harvard Law School where he earned his Juris Doctor.
The Career of Anthony Scaramucci
After graduating from Harvard, Anthony Scaramucci worked in the Investment Banking division at Goldman Sachs in 1989. Scaramucci was fired from the company but was rehired after two months, this time into the Equities division. Anthony left Sachs in 1996 and launched Oscar Capital management alongside his fellow Goldman colleague Andrew Boszhardt. The duo sold the firm to Neuberger Berman in 2001.
Anthony Scaramucci founded his second firm, SkyBridge Capital, in 2005. Scaramucci achieved widespread success with the firm with Worth magazine ranking him as the 85th most powerful person in global finance in 2016. Anthony left the company after a majority of its stakes was sold to RON Transatlantic EG and HNA Capital Holding on January 17, 2017.
In Politics
Anthony Scaramucci was known for his left-leaning politics. The entrepreneur supported the presidential campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, even serving as a fundraiser for the latter. Anthony also had tweeted in support of gun control laws and gay marriage. However, he joined the Trump Finance Committee after the withdrawal of Jeb Bush and Scott Walker from the 2016 Presidential Elections. Following Trump’s win, Scaramucci was appointed as the director of the White House Office of Public Liasion and Intergovernmental Affairs. As a representative of the Trump transition team, Scaramucci attended the World Economic Forum in Davos where his job was to reassure attendees about the incoming Trump Administration.
Following Sean Spicer’s announcement of resignation from the post of White House Communications Director and White House Press Secretary, Anthony Scaramucci was appointed for the former position. Spicer opposed Scaramucci’s appointment which made Anthony’s transition to his newly appointed role a bit harder than usual. Shortly after his appointment, Scaramucci had a profanity-filled phone interview with the New York Times where he lashed out on several white house
employees including Steve Bannon. On July 31, Donald Trump fired Scaramucci after suggestions from Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Anthony Scaramucci has married twice. Scaramucci divorced his first wife, Lisa Miranda, after 23 years of marriage (and 3years of separation) in 2011. The couple had three children together. The same year he divorced Lisa and married Deidre Ball. The couple has two children together. Ball filed for divorce in June 2017 but later dropped the case on November 29, 2017. Anthony Scaramucci has amassed a speculated net worth of around $200 million.
