Anthony Fauci is a popular American physician as well-known as an immunologist too. Currently, he has been providing his services as the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease. In recent times, Fauci is the leading member of the Trump Administration’s White House Coronavirus Task Force.

Anthony Fauci was born as Anthony Stephen Fauci on December 24, 1940, in New York City, New York, USA. He was the son of Stephen A. Fauci and Eugenia A. Fauci. He is not the only son of his parents. But, has an elder sister whose information hasn’t been kept undisclosed. In the year 1958, Anthony Fauci completed his high school studies from Regis High School. He was the captain of his school’s basketball team. Later, in the year 1962, he completed his BA degree in Classics from the College of the Holy Cross. Also, in 1966, he completed his Doctor in Medicine from Cornell University Medical College.

After successfully receiving his doctorate degree, Anthony Fauci interned at the New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center. From the year 1968, he started providing his services for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He has served in various positions for this institute including Head of the Clinical Physiology Section, Chief of the Laboratory of Immunoregulation, and also the director since 1984. Currently, he has been holding the position of director. Anthony Fauci was one of the most important personalities who got involved in the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS relief. Apart from all these, he was also involved in the development of vaccines for the victims of the 9/11 attack.

In late January 2020, the White House Coronavirus Task Force was established mainly to deal with the current coronavirus outbreak. Where Anthony Fauci was immediately appointed as its member. Now, he has been serving as the de facto spokesperson of this task force. On March 29, Donald Trump addressed that there will be 15-day self-isolation guidelines. But, Fauci disagreed on this and wanted the self-isolation until the end of April. This resulted in a lot of critics for him.

Anthony Fauci has been married to Christine Grady who is a nurse. The couple tied the knot in the year 1985. They had first met when they were serving a patient. The couple is blessed with three daughters; Jennifer, Megan, and Alison. Currently, Anthony Fauci has been residing in Washington, D.C.
