Hasan Minhaj is an American comedian and actor who was born in India and brought up in California. He is currently a senior correspondent on The Daily Show and he was also scheduled to perform at the White House correspondents dinner marking the 100 days of the president Donald Trump. However though Trump skipped it to attend a rally and Hasan went ahead without Trump.
Early Life
Hasan Minhaj was born on September 23, 1985 to Indian parents.
Minhaj originates from a Muslim family initially from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. His parents moved to Davis, California where Minhaj was brought up, yet his mom put in the initial eight years of his life far from him, in India, finishing her medical school.
Professional Career
After that in 2009 Minhaj moved to Los Angeles to perform on NBC’s Stand-up for Diversity where he was also one of the finalists. Furthermore in 2011 he was a series regular on the TV sitcom State of Georgia and starred in various roles on the MTV hidden camera show Disaster Date. Through posting on YouTube, he was cast on Failosophy. On November 19, 2014, Minhaj joined The Daily Show as a correspondent.
Personal life
Hasan Minhaj is married to Beena Minhaj, whom he met in college.
White House Correspondents Dinner
The Correspondents’ Dinner typically features a comedian or entertainer roasting the President, the administration and members of the media, while the Commander in Chief also gets a chance to crack a few jokes. However, President Donald Trump announced in February that he would skip the annual event, making him the first President since Ronald Reagan to do so.
So Hasan went ahead with hosting the event talking about the 100 days of DonaldTrump.
