Janelle Monáe was born on December 1, 1985 to father Michael Robinson and his wife. Raised in Kansas City, Monáe always aspired to become a singer. Then, on September 6, 2013, Janelle released The Electric Lady. With 19 title songs, the album is 67 minutes and 35 seconds in total length. The mild success of the album called for The Electric Lady Tour (2013 and The Golden Electric Tour (2014).
Besides music, Janelle has been a part of filmography. In 2016, she appeared in two Oscar nominater movies, Moonlight and Hidden Figures. Likewise, Janelle is the voice behind Stan Smith of American television show, American Dad!
