On Monday, January 2nd, the US President-elect Donald Trump forwarded his criticisms on North Korea and China in Twitter posts. Amid the concerning controversy on Trump’s twitter use, these new tweets add fuel to the fire.

Around 6 (EST) in the evening, Donald Trump shared his first tweet picking on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. He condemned the North Korean government’s plans to launch an intercontinental ballistic missile. According to The Wall Street Journal, this could be the next step to building a ground-breaking nuclear weapon that could directly hit US.

The exact words were: “North Korea just stated that it is in the final stages of developing a nuclear weapon capable of reaching parts of the U.S. It won’t happen!” This tweet might further damage the already worse US-North Korea ties. Moreover, the likely meeting of President Trump with Kim Jong Un will not probably take place.

It seems Trump keeps on thinking about an issue for long. After around three-quarters of an hour of the first tweet, President-elect again criticized Chinese government for not checking on North Korea’s missile developments.

The tweet said: China has been taking out massive amounts of money & wealth from the U.S. in totally one-sided trade, but won’t help with North Korea. Nice!

However, Trump’s tweet against China is not a surprising one. He frequently accuses China of manipulating currency to increase export and ‘stealing jobs’. Hence, Shi Yinhong commented on the tweet by saying that US obsession on picking China over North Korean policies is nothing new, putting Trump on the same side as other US diplomats.

Truly, even the much admired incumbent President Obama has always been hostile about North Korea’s weapon development. While the whole world is gradually entering peace agreements, Kim Jong Un still lives in a hallucination taking others as his enemies. Let’s see what Trump administration does about it!
