Early Life and Education
Scarlett Johannsson was born on November 22, 1984 to father Karsten Johannsson and mother Melanie Sloan. Raised in Manhattan, New York City, Johannsson graduated from Professional Children’s School in 2002 and joined the theatrical training.
Personal Life
As a graduate of Professional Children’s School, Johannsson dated Josh Hartnett from 2004 to 2006. As the couple separated, Deadpool superstar Ryan Reynolds and Johannsson started dating in 2007. The couple got engaged in May 2008 and subsequently got married in September. They lived in a $2.8-million home in Los Angeles. Going through some personal matters, the couple decided to get divorced in 2011.
In 2012, Scarlett started going out with Romain Dauriac. The couple got married on October 1, 2014 and currently has a daughter named Rose Dorothy Dauriac. As of January 2017, the couple had started living separately since the summer of 2016. The divorce process hasn’t completed yet but was started on March 7, 2017.
Career
Scarlett Johnson debuted into the film world in 1994 as Laura Nelson in the movie North directed by Rob Greiner. In the following years, young Johannsson was inundated with offers for various roles in numerous movies. In 1997, she did the role of Molly Pruitt in Home Alone 3 and Little girl in Fall. In 2001 and 2002, Johannsson appeared in Ghost World as Rebecca and Eight Legged Freaks as Ashley Parker.
As Scarlett graduated from Professional Children’s School, Johannsson landed the role of Charlotte in the movie Lost in Translation. Likewise, in 2004, she appeared in four films: The Prefect Score, A Love Song for Bobby Long, A Good Woman, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and In Good Company. Subsequently, Johannsson acted in the role of Olivia Wenscombe in the blockbuster hit movie, The Prestige.
In 2010, Scarlett Johansson was signed in as Natasha Romanoff in the movie sequel Iron Man 2. Two years later, she also appeared in its sequel The Avengers. Likewise, Johannsson completed her roles in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), and Captain America: Civil War (2016). Donald Trump and Scarlett Johansson controversy
Scarlett Johansson is a big advocate for former US President Barack Obama. In 2012, she even launched a pro-Obama fashion line whose profits would be donated to Obama’s presidential campaign. Likewise, Scarlett has always been critical about Republican stands on planned parenthood.
In the 2016 Presidential Election, Scarlett publicly endorsed Hillary Clinton and remained an outspoken critic of Donald Trump. When asked about the scariest thing about Trump administration, Johansson said, “I’m most concerned about the environmental ramifications because that’s a clock you can’t turn back.”
In Women’s March on Washington, Johansson said, “I didn’t vote for you but I want to be able to support you. But first I ask that you support me.”
