Manny Pacquiao was born on December 17, 1978, to Rosalio and Dionisia Pacquiao. Pacquiao was born in the Kibawe municipality of Bukidnon province, Philippines. Manny Pacquiao had taken up boxing as a hobby when he was 14 years old. At the age of 16, Pacquiao decided to make his hobby his profession and started to box professionally. As an amateur, Manny had a record of 60-4.

Manny Pacquiao began his political career in 2007 after he announced his intentions to run for a seat in the Philippine House of Representative. Pacquiao aimed to represent the 1st District of South Cotabato province but was defeated by incumbent Rep. Darlene Antonino-Custodio. Manny ran for the House of Representatives once again in 2010 but aimed for Sarangani province for his second try. Pacquiao won the seat by defeating Roy Chiongbian of SARRO Party.
Manny Pacquiao won the re-elections in 2013. In 2016, Manny declared that he would be running for the Senate under the United Nationalist Alliance Party. Pacquaio secured the seat and was the 7th most voted member of the Senate among the 12 new members that year.
