Alan Cobb first served as the deputy state director in Kansas for Bob Dole’s presidential campaign. His chief role in Kansas was to work in “constituent outreach”, holding open forums to discuss public affairs in the state. In addition to it, Cobb was the campaign manager for Tim Shallen burger’s 2002 Kansas gubernatorial race and served as an aide to U.S. Sen. Sheila Frahm.
From 2004 to 2009,he served as the Kansas state director for Americans for Prosperity (AFP).In 2009, Cobb was promoted to vice president, a role he served until 2012. Cobb authored an opinion piece for the Wichita Eagle, describing what he saw as methods to help ensure Wichita’s economic future.
During the 2014 election cycle, He worked for two Kansas Republicans seeking re-election later he joined Mike Pompeo’s re-election campaign as a senior advisor. Later in the election cycle, Cobb joined the Roberts campaign as the new director of grassroots operations. Alan Cobb initially joined the Trump presidential campaign in March 2015. During Trump campaign, he performed a number of roles as “Senior advisor” and was promoted as director of coalitions on June 28, 2016.
Early years
Alan Cobb used to live in Wichita, Kansas, where he studied Liberal Arts at Wichita State University. He had cleared his master’s degree in government affairs at the University of Pennsylvania. Then he went for a law degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. After receiving his law degree, He started to work as a lobbyist and public affairs consultant in the private sector.

From 2004 to 2009, Cobb served as the Kansas state director for Americans for Prosperity (AFP), which was nonprofit organization focusing on limited government founded in 2004 by David H. Koch. In 2009, Cobb was promoted to vice president which he served 2012.During the period, Cobb authored an opinion piece for the Wichita Eagle, describing what he saw as methods to help ensure Wichita’s economic future.
Donald Trump Presidential Campaign, 2016
In March 2015, Alan Cobb initially joined the Trump presidential campaign when the campaign infrastructure was still being developed. His initial role involved “assisting with recruitment”. On June 16, 2015, Trump announced his candidacy at Trump Tower. Cobb performed a number of roles under the title “senior advisor” throughout the primary elections and was promoted to director of coalitions on June 28, 2016.
