Albert Arnold Gore Jr. was born on March 31, 1948, is an American politician who worked as the 45th vice president of the United States from time 1993 to 2001. He was Bill Clinton’s running mate. After his span of vice-presidential, he plated up as an author and environmental activist, whose work in climate change activism earned him the Nobel Prize in 2007 jointly with the IPCC. Gore was also named as a runner-up for Time’s 2007 Person of the Year. He also won a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album in 2009 for his book An Inconvenient Truth.
Gore is the second child of Albert Gore Sr. who also was a U.S. representative who and served for 18 years. His mother Pauline (Lafon) Gore was the first woman to graduate from Vanderbilt University. Gore is a progeny of Scots-Irish immigrants who first settled in Virginia. Later on, they moved to Tennessee after the Revolutionary War. He had an older sister Nancy Gore who died because of Lung cancer.
During his school year, he lived with his family in The Fairfax Hotel. During the summer months, Gore worked on the family farm where Gores grew tobacco and raised cattle. Gore studied at St. Albans school which was an independent college preparatory day and boarding school for boys from 1956 to 1965. He also had an interest in sports and was also the captain of the football team.
