Albert Arnold Gore Jr. was born on March 31, 1948, is an American politician who worked as the 45th vice president of the United States from time 1993 to 2001. He was Bill Clinton’s running mate. After his span of vice-presidential, he plated up as an author and environmental activist, whose work in climate change activism earned him the Nobel Prize in 2007 jointly with the IPCC. Gore was also named as a runner-up for Time’s 2007 Person of the Year. He also won a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album in 2009 for his book An Inconvenient Truth.

Early life

Gore is the second child of Albert Gore Sr. who also was a U.S. representative who and served for 18 years. His mother Pauline (Lafon) Gore was the first woman to graduate from Vanderbilt University. Gore is a progeny of Scots-Irish immigrants who first settled in Virginia. Later on, they moved to Tennessee after the Revolutionary War. He had an older sister Nancy Gore who died because of Lung cancer.

During his school year, he lived with his family in The Fairfax Hotel. During the summer months, Gore worked on the family farm where Gores grew tobacco and raised cattle. Gore studied at St. Albans school which was an independent college preparatory day and boarding school for boys from 1956 to 1965. He also had an interest in sports and was also the captain of the football team. Besides, he also participated in basketball, throwing the discus, etc. Not only that, but he had a wide range of interests. He also took part in art and government issues. Gore graduated and applied to Harvard and was accepted.

Gore was elected as an official for 24 years. He was a representative from Tennessee from 1977 to 1985. Also, he served as a senator from Tennessee. Gore ran for vice president during Clinton administration from 1993 to 2001.

Talking about career goals, Gore is the founder and current chairperson of The Climate Reality Project. He is also co-founder and chairperson of Generation Investment Management, a member of the Board of Directors of Apple Inc., and also a senior adviser to Google. Gore served as a visiting professor at various Universities like Middle Tennessee State University, Columbia University, Fisk University, and the University of California. In 1963, Gore met Mary Elizabeth “Tipper” Aitcheson at his St. Albans senior prom. Tipper followed Gore to the same college where he went to Boston. They both got married at the Washington National Cathedral On May 19, 1970. They have four children- Karenna, Kristin, Sarah, and Al Gore III. In June 2010, they had made a mutual decision to separate. And in May 2012, he started dating Elizabeth Keadle of California.
