Joshua Kushner is a businessman who is widely known as the son of Charles Kushner or as the brother of Jared Kushner, husband of US First Daughter Ivanka Trump. Joshua is a Harvard graduate and is currently the founder and co-founder of Thrive Capital and Oscar Health respectively.
Early Life and Education
Joshua Kushner was born on June 12, 1985 to father Charles Kushner and mother Seryl Kushner. Growing up with brother Jared Kushner, Joshua followed his footsteps to Harvard for undergraduate studies. Graduating from Harvard in 2008, Kushner joined Harvard Business School for an MBA.
Several sources say that Joshua and Jared were accepted to Harvard after their father Charles Kushner made a donation of $2.5 million.
Personal Life
Joshua Kushner is 31 years old and is currently dating Karlie Kloss. Karlie is a fashion model who was named one of top 30 models by Vogue Paris. Kloss is just 24 years old.
Career
Joshua Kushner’s career starts since his sophomore year at Harvard University. Along with a few friends, Joshua published a Harvard-based fashion publication which was sometimes referred to as Harvard version of Vogue and Vanity Fair. Unfortunately, the publication was largely criticized for being ‘completely ludicrous…skewed portrayal of the Harvard community” and lack of models who were minorities.’
As of 2007, Joshua decided to invest in the establishment of a social media network title Vostu, especially targeting the people of Latin America. Likewise, after graduation, Kushner also invested in Unithrive. The startup basically contained the idea of funding the cash-strapped college students under zero percentage in interest rate. Unfortunately, the idea couldn’t take as much pace as the founders thought it would.
Leaving Harvard, Joshua went to Goldman Sachs. Soon, he left the financial institution to found Thrive Capital. Today, the Thrive Capital has raised $750 plus million, most of which comes from several national institutions. Similarly, Kushner also co-founded Oscar Health in 2012 and now is valued over $2.7 billion. Despite such pace in a short period of time, the company lost $92.4 million in 2015.
As a young businessman, Joshua Kushner has been featured in various magazines with several titles:
- Forbes’ 30 Under 30
- Magazine’s 35 Under 35
- Crain’s 40 Under 40
- Vanity Fair’s Next Establishment
Donald Trump and Joshua Kushner
Though Joshua Kushner is not directly linked to President Donald Trump, his brother Jared Kushner is closely related – in terms of both personal and political relation. As per some of the articles, Jared is supposedly the man who won Trump the White House.
Reportedly, Joshua Kushner was present at one of the anti-Trump rally held after Trump took oath on January 20. Likewise, Dailymail says that Joshua Kushner had decided to not to vote for Donald Trump.
