Geraldo Rivera was born on July 4, 1943. He was born at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York City, New York. He is the son of Lillian and Cruz Rivera. They were restaurant worker and cab driver respectively. He grew up with his parents in Brooklyn and West Babylon, New York. He attended West Babylon High School. Rivera attended State University of New York Maritime College. There he was a member of the rowing team. In 1965, he attended the University of Arizona and got B.S. in business administration.
