Chris Christie is an American politician. He is a former federal prosecutor and political commentator. From 2010 to 2018, he served as Governor of New Jersey. He was the 55th Governor of New Jersey.

Christie was born on September 6, 1962, in Newark, New Jersey. His father’s name is Wilbur James Christie and his mother’s name is Sondra A. His father used to work as a certified public accountant and his mother used to work as a telephone receptionist. After the 1967 Newark riots, he moved to Livingston, New Jersey with his family and lived there. In 1980, he graduated from Livingston High School. He played the role of class captain and played catcher for the baseball team at Livingston High School. In 1984, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Delaware and in 1987; he graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law with a J.D. He was awarded honorary doctorate degrees by Rutgers University and Monmouth University in 2010.

Chris Christie joined the Law firm of Dughi, Hewit, and Palatucii in 1987. He specialized in security law, election law, and government affairs appellate practice. His political career began in Morris County. He was a moderate Republican there. He became the lobbyist for energy companies in 1988. In 2011, he was nominated to serve as United States Attorney for New Jersey by George W. Bush. In January 2009, he filed papers to run for Governor after working for 6 years in the United States Attorney’s office.
Later, n June 2016, he announced that he would be running for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. In early 2016, he came in the 6th position and eventually ended his presidential run. He announced that Donald Trump would become the president in that election later in February 2016. Later, he left the office in 2017 after low approval ratings in his final years of office. Since January 29, 2018, he has been the political contributor to ABC News.
