Ryan John Seacrest is a radio personality, producer and TV host who is well renowned for the latter as the host of Americal Idol. American Idol is one of the biggest music reality television show in the world which has produced some well-renowned artists like Kelly Clarkson and Adam Lambert. He is also a powerhouse in media being the producer of highly rated show Keeping Up with The Kardashians and its spinoffs.
What is the latest controversy?
Suzie Hardy Seacrest’s personal stylist working for E! news accused Seacrest of sexually harassing her in the workplace when she worked for E! news from 2007 to 2013. She claimed that she endured the harassment until she left the job in 2013.
According to Variety, “Hardy accused Seacrest of groping her genitals, grinding against her while wearing only underwear and with an erection, and slapping her bottom so hard that it left a welt for hours”.
The issues spurred in the media when Seacrest released a statement on 17 November 2017 denying Hardy’s accusation. Seacrest and his lawyers claimed that Hardy asked $15 million dollars to settle the matter behind the door.
NBC Universal – the parent company of E! conducted an internal investigation from a third party and closed the case stating insufficient evidence. The investigation included an interview with many eyewitnesses and co-workers of both Seacrest and Hardy.
Seacrest’s other coworkers responded to these allegations as false and praised him that they were honored to work for them. Jimmy Kimmel the host of the 90th Oscars and the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! , American Idol, ABC, and Disney have supported Seacrest.
Things got heated up during the 90th Oscars when some of the A-listed artists avoided Seacrest in the E! news Red Carpet Ceremony’s interviews. It is also reported that Seacrest felt uncomfortable during the ceremony.
