Walter Kamau Bell is a renowned American socio-political stand-up comedian and a television host who is currently working for CNN. He uses comedy to discuss political and cultural issues which have become pervasive. Besides it, he is also famous for his tackling politics, social issues performance. Walter Kamau Bell was born on January 26, 1973, to parents Walter Bell an insurance commissioner and Janet Cheatham Bell an author. He was grown up at Alabama, Boston, and Chicago. Bell went to University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and later attended the University of Pennsylvania. But he dropped out with an intention to pursue his career as a comedian. In 2007, he released his comedy album titled ‘One Night Only ‘and developed ‘The Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour’ a one-man show the same year. The show was an exploration of America’s state of racism. His ‘Face Full of Flour’ was named as one of the Top 10 Best Comedy Albums of the year by iTunes and Punchline Magazine which was released in 2010. Bell was voted San Francisco’s best comedian in 2012.
On April Kamau’s first stand-up comedy TV Special Semi-Prominent Negro was premiered on Showtime. From 2012 to 2013, he hosted ‘Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell’ a weekly comedy TV series.
