Early Life

Michael Richard Pence also called Mike Pence was born on June 7, 1959. He started his life in Columbus, Indiana. Mike was one of six children of Nancy Jane and Edward J. Pence. His father was U.S army veteran who ran a string of gas station. He belongs to the family of Roman Catholic and Irish and he was raised in a politically inclined religious household. In 1977, he accomplished his graduation from Columbus North High School.

As he grew up in the family of political leanings, he also volunteered for Bartholomew County Democratic Party during his school days. His idol was President John F. Kennedy.

Education

Mike preceded his Bachelor in arts in history from Hanover College in 1981; there he was admission counselor for almost two years. He also studied law at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, receiving his J.D in 1986.

Career

After he completed his Law School Graduation, he was an attorney in private practice. He tried to enter to politics but unfortunately, he was unsuccessful for a congressional seat and he again got back to his career of law practice. He was one of those who never gave up and was able to become a President of Indiana Policy Review Foundation, a self-described and a member of the state Policy Network. Mike left Indiana Policy Review Foundation in 1994 and started his career in talk radio and hosted The Mike Pence Show, based in WRCR-FM in Rushville, Indiana. Pence also hosted a weekend political show of Indianapolis from 1995 to 1999.

Mike ended his broadcast career and started with congress again in 2000, he got elected to U.S House and representatives in Indiana 2nd Congressional District. He was re-elected four times by comfortable margins. Hence he served as the chairman of the Republican Study Committee, a group of Conservative House Republicans from 2005 to 2007.

He lost to Representative John Boehner of Ohio by a vote of 168 for Boehner, 27 for pence, and one for Representative Joe Barton of Texas. In 2008 Pence defeated Welsh from House Election. In January 2009, Pence was elected as Republican Conference Chairman, he was called third Highest Ranking Republican position. He ran unopposed and was elected unanimously.  Since 1981 he is the first representative to hold a house of leadership from Indiana. Pence were also listed one of the ten best members of congress in the magazine named Esquire saying that;

Pence’s “Unalloyed traditional conservatism has repeatedly pitted him against his party elders.”

Mike career was increasingly promoted and won the gubernatorial election in Indiana. He was then declared 50th Governor of Indiana in 2013. He gains popularity due to tax reforms. Mike was successful in reducing the burden of income tax and exclude inheritance tax.

Association with Donald Trump

After Donald Trump, Pence was selected Vice Presidential running mate but Pence choose to end the gubernatorial campaign.

Personal Life

Talking about Mike Pence Personal life and Legacy he got married in 1985 with Karen in 1985 who is a former school teacher who has been involved in Youth related Non- profit Organization. The couple has three children Mike Jr., Charlotte and Audrey Pence.

Mike Pence as Vice President

In the beginning of his administration, Pence performed numerous obligations, incorporating swearing in James Mattis as United States Secretary of Defense and John Kelly as Secretary of Homeland Security hours after his own initiation as Vice President on January 20.
