Early Life and Education

Carrie Fisher, born on October 21, 1956, was raised by singer father Eddie Eddie Fisher and actress mother Debbie Reynolds. Growing up in Burbank, California, Fisher went to Beverly Hills High School. later, she joined the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Dropping out of drama school, Fisher decided to go to Sarah Lawrence college. However, she never graduated.

Personal Life

Carrie Fisher was married to Paul Simon for a year from 1983 to 1984. After divorce, she started dating Bryan Lourd. Although the couple never married, Fisher frequently referred to Lourd as her second husband. The couple had a daughter named Catherine. Besides, Carrie was also in casual relationships with film producer Harrison Ford, singer James Blunt, and comedian Dan Aykroyd. Dan and Carrie were set to marry in 1980 but parted their ways.

Career

A daughter to famous actor and actress, Carrie Fisher found her career in the same field. In 1975, she debuted in a Comedy film Shampoo produced by the Columbia Pictures. Soon, she landed the role of Princess Leia Organa in Star Wars. The film became a blockbuster hit earning around $775 million in total. Due to an immense success, Star Wars has frequently been releasing its sequels featuring Carrie in the same role.
