In 1950, Bill’s mother came from school of nursing and married Roger Clinton Sr., who owned an automobile franchise in Hot Springs, Arkansas, together with his brother and Earl T. Ricks. In 1950, the family stirred to Hot Springs.

In Hot Springs, Clinton studied at St. John’s Catholic Elementary school, Ramble Elementary school, and Hot Springs High School—where he was a lively student leader, avid reader, and musician.
