Ashely Judd Biography

Ashley Judd is an actress by profession and an activist by political involvement. Judd is widely known for her roles in movies such as Kiss the Girls, Ruby in Paradise, Double Jeopardy and Insurgent. Judd has also appeared in several television series and shows.

Early Life and Education

Ashley Judd was born on April 19, 1968. Raised in Granada Hills of California, Ashley went to numerous schools prior to joining undergraduate education. Out of 13 different schools she attended, Sayre School and Franklin High School are well renowned. Completing high school education, Judd joined the University of Kentucky and did her undergraduate studies in French. For minor, Ashley did anthropology, arts, and theater. In 2010, Judd went to Harvard Kennedy School of Government for a master’s degree in public administration.

Personal Life

Ashley Judd was married to racing driver Dario Franchitti. The couple stayed in a marital relationship from 2001 to 2013 but never had any children.

Ashley is a die-hard fan of the University of Kentucky Basketball Team, hence regularly attending the team’s games. Besides, she likes doing yoga, cooking, and gardening.

Career

Ashley Judd’s professional career in acting commenced in 1991 when she appeared as Robin Lefler in two episodes of the ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ film series. Soon after the performance, she was signed to become Reed Halsey in Sisters. From 1991 to 1994, Judd appeared in 32 episodes of Sisters. Likewise, Ashley played as Becca Winstone in Missing (2012) and as BB Yates in Berlin Station (2017).

A year after her appearance in Star Trek, Judd was signed to play paint store owner’s wife in the 1992 movie Kuffs. The following year, she performed in the role of Ruby Lee Gissing in Ruby in Paradise (1993). In 1995, Ashley did three roles: Charlene Shiherlis in Heat, Felicity in Smoke and Callie in The Passion of Darkly Moon. The following year, she appeared in A Time to Kill as Carla Brigance.

Ashley Judd kicked off the 21st-century acting career by appearing in Where the Heart Is as Lexie Coop. Since then, she has made numerous appearances in several Hollywood movies. In 2014, she joined Divergent team as Natalie Prior. Hence, in 2015 and 2016, Judd had the opportunity to appear in the same role in movie sequels Insurgent and Allegiant. In 2016, Ashley appeared in two other films Barry and Good Kids as Ann Dunham and Gabby.

Ashley Judd was one of the celebrities who was actively present in Women’s March on Washington 2017. The protest was supposedly targeted towards Donald Trump’s policies regarding women’s rights, natural environment, immigration, reproductive rights, et cetera.
